Apprenticeship intake opens for eighteen places
Dry Fork Construction and High Desert Solar are taking eighteen apprentices between them, starting in October. Applications close September 19.
The Nation’s apprenticeship program is taking eighteen people this cycle, twelve at Dry Fork Construction and six at High Desert Solar. It is the largest intake since the program started in 2019.
Apprentices are paid from day one, starting at $22.40 an hour and stepping up at six month intervals. There is no cost to the apprentice for tools or certification.
Eleven of last year’s sixteen apprentices were hired on permanently at the end of their terms. Council Member Tobias Rowe, who runs the program with the Enterprise Board, said the target this cycle is to hold that rate while increasing the intake.
Applications are through the Human Resources Department. There is no online form: applications are taken on paper at the Administration Building, or by post.
