Chairwoman Verona Marsh reported to Council on the eleventh round of negotiations with the state over the Nation’s water claim.
There is no agreement. The Nation has not moved off its position on the winter flow requirement, and the state has not moved off its position on the priority date. Those two questions are what the whole negotiation now turns on.
The Chairwoman asked Council to note plainly that this may not resolve this year, and that the Nation’s position does not change if it does not. The twelfth round is scheduled for October.
